"I wanted to share my delightful experience during the entire process of ordering all new shelving for our new Library at our new campus. In October of 2017 we moved our entire Bible College Campus to a new location. Needless to say, that kind of a move is a herculean task, especially for a Library. We were given a significant grant to enlarge and renew the Library to a more modern look reflecting the new campus size. The new Library had beautiful tile floors installed, new LED lighting and so it was only fitting that we could no longer use our old, out-of-date, beige shelving. From previous experience, I knew as I began my search for new shelving that the Library Store had an excellent reputation for carrying excellent products, therefore this would be the first place where I would begin my search. It did not take me long to realize that I would be purchasing our shelving only from the Library Store.
I was immediately taken with the black shelving that Aurora offered. With our new LED lighting the newly painted white/grey walls the black shelving would pop and make an eye-catching statement as one entered the Library. At first glance, I loved the appeal that the top panel of the book shelves offered. I love to see the softer side of things and I especially loved the idea that I could place beautiful plants on the tops of each book case, I could not do that with my old shelving as it had no top shelf. Next, the sleek side panels were wide and metallic as opposed to the older shelving that had a small curve side. Being metal, I could attach magnetic frames to each side panel that would allow me to offer Library information, such as: call number range for each book shelf; special events taking place the Library and "No food or drinks allowed in the Library." One of the most important details about the Aurora Shelving is that it is has no cantilevers because of the four-post design, therefore it uses less floor space which was important in our particular floor plan. There are so many good things I can say about the Aurora shelving: easy installation, looks smart and sleek: and no harm to the books and much, much more.
All of the things I have mentioned above are in themselves extraordinary and amazing, however, the truly amazing thing about working with The Library Store is the personnel. I worked with Shayla Hill for weeks and weeks and, as I was the one responsible for spending the grant money for the Library, I wanted to make sure I had everything perfect. As one might only imagine, I made my share of phone calls. No, that is not correct, I made far more than my share of phone calls, some of them one right after another. I must say, Shayla never once lost her patience with me. She always made me feel as if I was her only customer At times I must admit she might have felt that way too, I called and emailed her so many times per day. There are so many things to consider when you are the only one responsible for creating a new Library with a new look, and a new feel. This might be a good time to mention that this Library is not your usual Library. It is the central hub for the entire school, much like a Barnes & Noble of a college campus. That means that each and every student that enters the Bible College on their way to class passes right by the Library. Now you can begin to understand that my relationship with Shayla was a vital one to me and she performed 110 % and The Library Store can be proud to have her on staff."
