International Charter School of Atlanta

ICS offers grades K-6 with an enrollment of over 600 students. They anticipate adding a new grade a year for the next 2 years for a total K-8 projected enrollment of 900 students. Project Coordinator Alma Bolden was given the task to come up with a plan and to procure media center furnishings for International Charter School's Lower and Upper Campuses. It was important to her that the completed design was functional and smart, as well as bright and inspiring to all students. Alma contacted TLS Creative Spaces to help her to design and carry out her vision for a 21st Century Learning environment that would meet all the needs of International Charter School's students.

The TLS Creative Spaces Design team worked with Alma to build her vision using the newest furniture and design layouts. TLS provided Alma with 3D renderings to help her visualize the spaces and easily make changes to the layouts so each library was exactly what she envisioned.

They had just painted the library walls with very bright and happy colors and Alma wanted the new furniture to give the same feeling. TLS sent Alma samples with all the many options of vinyl swatches and laminates to choose from. She choose colors similar to her walls which were then incorporated into her 3D renderings so she could visualize how they went together before placing her order.

Our design team contacted the various manufacturers to ensure that the orders would be fullfilled and shipped according to schedule. Soon it was time for all the hard work and anticipation to be realized. It was installation day! TLS sent an install team to meet and unload each of the trucks which were all timed to arrive at both locations. All of the furniture was unloaded, inspected, assembled, and carefully set in place. When the library was complete, our install team removed all the boxes and packing materials.
