Collaboration Focused Middle School Library

Almost every piece of furniture out in the floor is mobile, making this middle school library design perfectly flexible for whatever needs may arise. The room can be easily re-arranged to create more floor space, group students together for collaboration, separate desks for quiet study, or create more room for makerspace mischief.

We chose to place our Nautilus Mobile Welcome Desk in the center of the design. This mobile desk provides a good amount of storage, yet is compact enough to be easily rolled across the room. A mobile book drop in matching colors completes the set-up. Behind the desk are beautifully sculptural Palette Radius Mobile Shelving Units accompanied by Russwood Connector Benches. These shelving nooks do a beautiful job of showcasing the library's book collection while providing a comfortable place for students to sit. Single-faced Nautilus shelving against the walls complete the look with matching wood and laminate colors.

The makerspace area in this library is impressive. The area contains four Mobile STEM Stations with power access and locking cabinets to house various project materials. Kore wobble chairs provide seating for 16 students at the stations. Tubbi Mobile Storage Units provide additional seating and storage, while Palette Soft Seating and Russwood Modular Seating Elements provide more seating options.

Mobile Palette Tables are perfect for various lessons and needs. These unique tables are designed to fit together like puzzle pieces to create larger groups, or separate into individual desks. This design uses the Harmony and Stella shapes, but there are many other shapes to choose from in the Pallete Collection.

The color scheme was chosen to create an energetic atmosphere that inspires. With colorful library furniture collections like the Nautilus Collection and the Palette Collection, you are no longer limited to boring, traditional colors for your library furniture. You can choose to represent your school colors, create a complimentary color scheme, or stick to tried and true neutrals. Whatever look you have in mind, these furniture collections can deliver it with the quality and craftsmanship you expect.
