Energetic and Modern Elementary School Library
Space saving design with a custom PAC station
This elementary school library design utilizes modular lounge seating and a custom computer station to maximize space and utility.
There it is...smack dab in the middle of your library. That awful structural column that takes up too much space. What is a librarian to do? Use it! This type of structural necessity is the perfect place for a computer station. We worked with our furniture manufacturer to come up with a custom computer station that fits perfectly around this library's column, turning an eyesore into a utilitarian study station with easy access to power.
Our Nautilus wood library shelving was chosen with an attractive natural finish and black laminate tops to match the color scheme of the library. Double-faced shorter units were used on the floor to keep the room open, with short, single-faced units along the wall to keep books accessible for the school's young students.
One open area with several Nautilus library tables provides a space for lessons and group work. Nautilus tables are also spaced in-between shelving units to create smaller, quieter areas for independent study.
Braden Modular lounge seating provided a lounge area that maximizes the number of seats while minimizing the floor space needed.
Our Atlantis circulation desk provided the librarian with generous storage in the form of mobile pedestals under the desk and drawer boxes that sit ontop of the desk surface. Patron ledges provide the librarian with some privacy, while the open front corner peices allow for attractive and welcoming book displays.
The color scheme of this library is modern and bright with neutral grays, black, and yellow to create an attractive and cohesive theme.
