Zoned Modern Elementary School Library

The heart of the library is the circulation desk. The desk is strategically placed in the center of the space, allowing the librarian to be easily available to aid students in their various tasks, as well as easily keep an eye on the entire library. We used the Nautilus circulation desk for this design due of its' ample storage options and sleek design.

Russwood's Stately wood library shelving was chosen for the librarys' extensive collection of books. Double-faced shorter units were used on the floor to keep the room open, while taller, single-faced units were used along the wall to maximize storage space.

With technology quickly becoming a large part of the modern library media center, we created a STEM zone located close to the circulation desk. This STEM zone contains several Russwood Elite study carrels to provide students with adequate computer stations. A large media center complete with a MooreCo MediaSpace table and a large monitor allows students to collaborate on class projects or give a presentation on their work.

Ample space for tables allows students to attend classes in the library and provides a large area for independent study. The lounge area utilizes MooreCo's Modular Soft Seating Collection to create a unique area for students to hang out, read, or collaborate on group work.

We chose the complimentary colors of orange and blue to create an energetic aesthetic that inspires both students and staff. The lighter, more natural wood stains create a modern, clean feeling throughout the space.
