Red Pandas like Raja call the Eastern Himalayas of Nepal, India, Bhutan and the foothills of Southwestern China home. Raja, is a Bhutanese Red Panda who lives in one of Bhutan's five protected Red Panda zones. Red Pandas are endangered, but because of their generally timid nature and nocturnal living patterns, the true numbers of wild populations are difficult to determine. Don't we all wish we could have one as a pet? Indira Gandhi, the former prime minister of India made it happen, keeping her red panda in a specially designed tree-house!
